We see a lot of things in our work as SEO’s and over the years a surprising number of recurring things which hold back sales volumes for clients
1) Poor calls to action or not repeated in various places
2) No strapline to reinforce the brand’s proposition
3) No obvious down page navigation
4) Most designers are young so use fonts not appropriate to the website audience age
5) Use colours that would work well on projection but aren’t natural to read
6) Fail to consider different preferred behaviours – some people like facts, others like images. Best to have three routes in to find/complete a desired transaction be that a sale or membership or simply reading something
7) Pointless graphics
8) Overly large images and video
9) All about them
10) No company details so lacks credibility
